When do Live Seminars begin?
Live Seminars are held every other year, on the even year of the Certified Contractors License Renewal period.

Do you meet all the CILB requirements to renew my contractor's license?
Yes, by completing an All-in-One Day Seminar or a Two-Day Seminar you will receive 14 hours of CE to satisfy the requirements for license renewal. EXCEPT POOL/SPA CONTRACTORS who must complete 1 hour of CE on Pool Electrical. This hour is available as an Online Course only.

I am an Electrical Contractor - can I attend your seminar?
Yes, you can attend Florida Contractor Course A, approved by the ECLB, and receive 1 hour of CE Credit in Advanced Module, BSP, WPS, and W/C. However, Electrical Laws & Rules and any Technical CE you are required to complete ARE NOT covered in this Live Seminar. Please refer to our individual online courses page for these hours.

I also have a Home Inspectors License-will I receive any CE credit at the seminar?
Yes, by attending either the All-in-One Day or the Two-Day Seminar you will receive 7 hours of General CE credit for your Home Inspectors License. The remaining 7 hours required for renewal are available on our Home Inspectors Online Courses Bundles Page.

I also have a Professional Engineers License-will I receive any CE credit at the seminar?
Yes, by attending either an All-in-One Day or Two-Day Seminar you will receive 4 PDH in Areas of Practice.

Who reports to the State that I completed my CE's after the Seminar?
We take care of electronically reporting your completed CE's to the DBPR. At the Live Seminar you will be provided with a Certificate of Completion to keep for your records. The contractor is responsible for renewing their license with the DBPR. This is done online at www.myfloridalicense.com

What are the classroom times for your Live Seminars?
The All-in-One Day (14 hr) Seminar begins at 7:00 am and ends at 7:30 pm. NO LUNCH HOUR, bring your own lunch/snacks, 4 small breaks during the day
The Two-Day Seminars begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m., both days. Lunch break from Noon to 1:00 pm both days, 1 morning break.

What is your cancellation/refund policy for Live Seminars?
You may cancel your live seminar registration and receive a full refund up to 1 week prior to your scheduled class date. All cancellations must be submitted in writing and emailed to info@constructioncomedy.com There are NO refunds for cancellations within the week of the seminar. You will receive a credit to reschedule to another seminar class date (based on availability) or you may request to be transferred to our online continuing education courses.

Can I reschedule my Live Seminar?
Yes, you can reschedule your live seminar 1 time as a courtesy at no additional charge. Any further rescheduling of a seminar is subject to availability and will incur a $25 rescheduling fee. All requests for rescheduling must be submitted in writing and emailed to info@constructioncomedy.com

What happens if I don't attend my scheduled seminar?
You can email our office info@constructioncomedy.com and request to be rescheduled into another live seminar class (subject to availability) or to be transferred to our online continuing education courses. There are NO REFUNDS for missed seminar classes.

How do your Online Courses work?
Each individual course is divided into timed lessons. These lessons/sections are typically between 1 and 15 minutes in length (with the exception of some Electrical Technical courses) Carmen voices over each lesson in the construction online courses and there is text for you to read along with. After each timed lesson you are required to answer a question(s) regarding that content before proceeding to the next lesson. You will be able to re-answer any question(s) you answer incorrectly.

Do I have to sit at the computer for 14 hours straight to complete the courses?
No you can take the online courses at your own pace. Anytime of the day/night as long as you have an internet connection. You can even log-off during a course and it will remember where you left off. However, you must complete the timed lesson/section you are currently working in/answer the question(s) and as the next lesson/section begins you can hit "quit" or "return to student menu" and it will pick up at that lesson once you re-enter that course again.

How do I access my Online Courses once I have purchased them?
Login from the Home Page, this will drop you onto your Student Menu page. Stay on the Student Menu page, scroll down slightly until you see "Active Online Web Classes" below this will be the online courses you purchased and need to complete. Each course is outlined in a box and will have the words "Enter Class" above them. Click on that link to begin.

Can I use a mobile phone or Ipad to take the courses?
Yes the courses are mobile friendly and Ipad friendly (as long as you have wi-fi/internet connection)

How long do I have to complete the Online Courses?
Immediately upon purchasing the courses you are able to begin taking them. You can work on them at your own pace, however they need to be completed within the 2 year renewal cycle that you are currently in and prior to the expiration date of your Contractor's license.

How do I know if I finished a course?
Each individual online course in your Student Menu is outlined in a box showing you the title/content/sections within that course. At the start and completion of each course you will be asked to verify your identity. Once you complete an individual course you will receive a message and you can return to your Student Menu. Once all courses are completed you will receive a "Congrats" message on your Student Menu screen. All finished courses appear and will remain in your Student Menu under "completed" showing the course title, date of completion and the ability to "print a certificate" for your records. Each course has it's own corresponding Certificate of Completion.

Do I receive a Certificate of Completion for the Online Courses?
Yes, all individual online courses have a separate certificate of completion. These certificates will remain in your Student Menu under "completed classes" showing the title of the course, date of completion and the ability to "print certificate" for your records.

How do my completed CE's get reported to the DBPR? Do I need to do this?
On a daily basis, after each individual course you complete, we electronically report your name, license number(s) and completed course. These completions take between 24-48 hours to upload with the State. Once you complete all courses, you are responsible for renewing your license, paying the renewal fee to the DBPR prior to the expiration date of your license. This is done online at www.myfloridalicense.com
